Financial Assistance

The Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble Board of Directors believes that including music in a student’s education helps her or him to become a well-rounded person. Being able to share the experience with fellow students further enhances that benefit.

The NSYWE Board of Directors automatically adjusts fees for families that have more than one student accepted into the ensemble.

The NSYWE Board of Directors acknowledges that students may face financial challenges that could limit their ability to fully participate in the Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble. While it is beyond the Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble’s ability to assist every student in financial need, the Board of Directors will consider requests for assistance on a case-by-case basis.

Financial Assistance covers the cost of the program registration, in full or in part, but does not include any funding for travel or personal expenses related to participation in the ensemble.

Parents/guardians who wish to be considered for financial assistance are asked to complete the attached form and to e-mail it to before the first rehearsal in September. Your application should also include a supportive letter from the student’s school band music director, guidance counsellor, principal, or a comparable non-family member outside of the school system.

Any information shared with the Board of Directors will be considered confidential. If you have any questions or concerns please email Hope Gendron at
